Curtains Up

Summer Schools

We plan to run Summer Schools providing that the Government rules during the pandemic allow.

Summer Schools – Costumes, Lights, Action!

Commonly known as the best week of the summer holidays, the children are instantly engaged with casting, rehearsing and finally performing the songs, dances and drama that they have learned throughout the week.

The children work and play hard each day, learning new skills, developing existing ones, whilst strengthening and creating friendships.

Summer School for Juniors is for children in Year 3 up to and including children in Year 7 at school. *

Summer School for Seniors is for children in Year 7 and above, maximum age 18 years old. *

We have our own children and lots of experience of working with many, many other children! We know that some children in Year 7 will be more comfortable working in the Junior Group, whilst others will be more comfortable in the Seniors - and others will love doing both! This is why they have the option of either group - feel free to give us a ring to talk about it!

*Year Group as at 1st June 2021

Junior Summer School

Money Munchers - this year summer school is going to be a script specially for Curtain Up called Money Munchers. It follows the journey of some alien creatures called Ambergrysts who come to Earth to inspect the planet to see if it is a suitable place for them to dump their rubbish as their own planet is now overloaded. They meet some young people from London who take them exploring all over the city via the underground but Earth is not what they expected.

The show is packed with great songs and dances and there is a spoken role for every member of the cast. Rehearsals will start on the Monday morning and by Friday at 5pm we will have a brilliant show to present to the families and friends of the cast.
