A Bellagio Dream - Professional Review

We performed a Bellagio Dream as part of our summer school 2013.

The challenge of summer school is to create a fully choreographed, fully staged, fully costumed show in a week and ensure that all actors are given a role to enjoy.

A Bellagio Dream is based on Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream.

This is the review we received - well done to the performers - you were fabulous!

Curtain Up Theatre School, A Bellagio Dream, is an updated Vegas style Midsummer Night's Dream penned by Director Tristan Carter.

Performed as a "show in a week" as part of the summer schools on offer from this hugely professional independent theatre school, the youngsters (8+) get to grips with the script and fabulous routines (Choreographer Annette Wilsher) with great gusto and energy.
This was a full company production, everyone taking a speaking part and full involvement in all musical numbers with some original songs by Anthony Sanchez (Musical Director)

This a great example of how well organised theatre schools can give both huge value for money, by giving the students a chance to perform on a full theatre stage with set and highly successful lighting/projection (Luke John Emmett) whilst receiving acting, singing and dance tuition from professionally trained staff throughout the week.

The theatre school is open to all, without auditions, for both summer schools and Saturday sessions during term time.

The great reception from the audience was a true reflection of the magnetic energy and real sense of achievement evident in the wide smiles of the many pupils onstage.
Curtain Up is undoubtedly Bath's leading theatre school and with this vibrant production it is very easy to see why they hold this accolade.
